Abstract

Recent years have affected the state of Russian enterprises in different ways: some found themselves in a difficult situation, while others saw new opportunities in them. The number of vacancies in the Russian labor market has increased, but the problem is that there are not enough suitable candidates for them. The shortage of staff forces employers to lure or retain employees, increasing remuneration. In some cases, wages grow faster than labor productivity, which violates the basic rule of labor economics. This worries the Central Bank, which considers the situation on the labor market to be one of the main risks to inflation.

The article discusses such problems as the unemployment rate in the regional labor markets of Russia, popular types of employment, and the age status of employees.

Attention is also drawn to business with the use of modern technology and the use of neural networks, which are designed to have a positive impact on the development of the labor market.

The situation on the labor market of the Republic of Kalmykia is considered. The main causes of migration of the region’s population are shown. Forecasts of the departure and arrival of the able-bodied population of Kalmykia are shown.

Taking into account the identified problems, the possibilities of using the available labor resources with competent task setting, creating comfortable working conditions and thus solving the problem of personnel shortage are determined.
